Wolfes Excavating LLC, located in Clarksburg, WV, is seeking highly motivated personnel.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

This working position is responsible for managing tracking teams and ordering parts to perform preventative maintenance/repairs on large heavy machinery fleet. Heavy experience in Engine (Gas & Diesel), Hydraulics, Electrical, Pneumatic systems, administrative and staff management required.

Managing and inspecting the repair of off-road trucks, loaders, excavators, bulldozers and other heavy equipment for proper performance. Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment. Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts. Repairing damaged equipment parts. The primary objective of equipment maintenance is the repair and up-keep of production equipment; making sure to keep it in a safe, effective operating condition so that production and quality targets can be met on time and at cost. Assure quality of repairs to minimize recall/duplicate work. Assure work is performed according with all manufacturers specifications.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defect.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and guages.
  • Schedule maintenance machines and equipment, and keep accurate, up-to-date equipment service records.
  • Order parts, billing and credits.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears.

Responsibilities/Working Environment/Conditions

  • Communicate with operations daily to determine status of fleet.
  • Manage inventory control.
  • Scheduling of mechanical staff for open repairs and of preventive maintenance.
  • Obtain replacement parts, install and/or make repairs.
  • Update management for complex repairs, which require approval and scheduling.
  • Completion of paperwork as required.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • This position requires working in the internal and external environments. This position requires a flexible work schedule, night and/or weekends may be required.

Education, Experience and Training

  • 5-7 years heavy equipment mechanical with leadership and management skills or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Develop and maintain positive attitude. Be courteous, prompt and respectful to others.


  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass drug test and background check. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Work safely at all times surrounded by unpredictable field conditions, continuously moving vehicles, equipment, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
