Skilled Laborer

Wolfes Excavating LLC., is immediately seeking Skilled Laborers to support field operations at various jobsite locations within an 80 mile radius of Clarksburg, West Virginia. This will be an excellent entry-level opportunity for those seeking the chance to enter the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities Include

  • Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints
  • Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs. and navigate construction job site terrain
  • Dig pits, trenches and foundations in preparation for job site construction.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including construction vehicles.
  • Identify utility lines.
  • Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site.
  • Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists and work crew.
  • Back-fill trenches and pits when necessary.
  • Provide labor support as needed for specialty crew.
  • Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Recognizing and applying safe practices and procedures when involved in all field work.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to help achieve the goals of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months oilfield experience in similar duty.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable transportation as jobsite locations will be subject to change.
  • Cell phone with texting capabilities as texting will be the primary method of communication to update those in the field.
  • Willing to work outside, exposed to the heat and inclement weather conditions.
  • Willing to work 12 hour shifts, five to six days a week, and/or holidays.
  • Successful completion of both a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in working in the oil and gas industry.
  • Safeland, OSHA 10, First Aid.
  • High School / GED.
  • Basic understanding of principle construction and procedures.

Work Environment

  • May be exposed to extreme cold and heat for extended periods of time.
  • May be exposed to other environmental conditions, such as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
  • Will be required to wear hearing protection and, at times, may have to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise.
  • May be working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, high-pressure, and chemicals.

Physical Demands

  • Will be frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Will occasionally be required to lift, push, carry, and/or move up to 70 pounds independently.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, balance, etc. frequently.
  • May need to navigate challenging terrain in order to evaluate project sites, conditions, and perform work.
